Keel-Billed Toucan (Ramphastos sulfuratus)

Male in front, Female in back. My favorite pair of birds. Keel-billed Toucans are very social, very playful birds. Traveling in flocks of approximately six to twelve birds.
Usually lay 1-4 white eggs. Male and female take turns sitting on eggs. Eggs hatch in 15-20 days. After hatching, the male and female again take turns feeding the chicks. Chicks hatch naked. Eyes closed for approximately 3 weeks. Chicks stay in their nest for approximately nine weeks as their bills develop fully and they become ready to fly
