AWESOME when hand fed. incredible pets! Large member of the turaco family from Africa. Great breeders even when tame. They make very cool bird calls, almost like laughing. We had one that said Hello. They need large flights, Very active bird. they look like a cross between a hawk and a roadrunner.... AWESOME ! Member of the turaco family, a group of large arboreal birds restricted to Africa. breeds in open woodland habitats. Lays two or three eggs in a tree platform nest. 50cm long, including a long tail. Sexes are identical, immature birds have a black woolly head without silver streaking. feeds on fruit, figs, seeds and other vegetable matter. ( in captivity: Banana, Mango, Papaya, Soaked Softbill diet & figs ) Has a loud cow-cow-cow call, very familiar in West Africa.
